Our vision has always been to change the climate of entertainment.
We believe that stories are as important to human wellbeing as clean air and water; they have the power to inspire, connect, comfort, and embolden us. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to ensure that stories can continue to be told in a way that respects our planet. We’re here to help the entertainment industry consistently integrate sustainable environmental and social practices on their shows, in their operations, and in the broader community.
People are at the heart of every organization. Sustainability is, primarily, an initiative for health and wellbeing. We view everything we do from the perspective of creating systems that support sustainable culture. Our ultimate goal of “changing the climate of entertainment” revolves around implementing systems within organizations that decrease stress, both environmentally and socially. We have developed this approach over time and consistently experience its transformative effectiveness. We believe in what we do, and in making it fun!
This mission requires a shift in production and corporate culture. As people become more aware that their actions matter, they naturally take on the responsibility of choosing more sustainable behaviours. But this responsibility can feel heavy, and often people don’t know where to begin. Our corporate sustainability strategies, on-production consulting packages, custom training programs, and online courses are designed to ease this burden, energizing organizations, crew, and communities with quality education that not only teaches them what to think, but how to think with a sustainable circular economy mindset.
The Pact
Through our activities and initiatives, Green Spark Group is helping to achieve progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in September 2015, the SDGs consist of 17 ambitious goals that aim to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges and shift the world onto a sustainable path. Meeting the SDGs by 2030 will require cooperation and collaboration among governments, NGOs, development partners, communities and the private sector. Green Spark Group founded the Creative Industries Pact for Sustainable Action to provide community and connection for creative organizations around the globe dedicated to upholding the UN SDGs. We are humbled by the response from the creative community. The Pact is now an active global community of over 180 signatories and ambassadors in over 20 countries. There is huge opportunity to build on this strong foundation right now, considering the UNFCCC's increasing interest in sustainability in the motion picture industry.
